The following is from Kim:
One of our favorite things to do in the winter is to watch the different migrations of birds moving through our area. Last weekend we saw a woodpecker that we just cannot identify. It looked just like a hairy woodpecker, which is really just a larger version of a little downy woodpecker. But this one was BROWN. I thought maybe a sapsucker, but it has a white body and not the markings of a sapsucker. Anyway, after much searching of bird books and google, we have arrived at the conclusion that the bird is a type of albino hairy woodpecker. If any of you know what kind of woodpecker it is, please let us know!
Have a great week everyone!
