The Following is from Silvi:
Our little town of Lutsen hosted another NJRS downhill ski race on Sunday at Lutsen Mountains Ski and Summer Resort. There are quite a few devoted parents who religiously volunteer every year to make sure the race is available and accessible for Cook County kids. We have several such volunteers from the TimberWolff office, John Oberholtzer and me (Silviya Duclos) and our newest agent Frank Lehto! Race day was sunny but cold! Everyone, including the kids, were troopers and toughened up like true Minnesotans and didn’t let the cold slow anyone down! The race course was set up on Koo-Koo, one of the most challenging terrains for these young racers. The Lutsen Junior Ski team had quite a few podium places and raced against tough competition from Team Duluth, Mont Du Lac, Giants Ridge, Ski Gull and Canada! We had quite a few first time racers from the team and they all did amazingly well.
Thanks to our community volunteers and local businesses, we have this great sport accessible for the kids living in Cook County! And with this fresh foot of snow we have received over the past few days, the ski conditions at Lutsen Mountains are fantastic right now, hope to see you out on the slopes!
